There was more to my LA vacay than a fabulous music festival and seeing one of my idols in person. More images from another fun road trip!

I’ve longed to visit this place! And when I finally arrived on a hot May day…
There are not enough😆s for this. I missed out on the poppies, but, nonetheless, I still made the most out of my visit. It’s quite fascinating to see desert land and Joshua trees up close. (Just don’t touch their tips.)
I had quite the day in the Lancaster/Palmdale region. I’d never visited the area before, and I wasn’t surprised to see some MAGA folk running around. (Bumper stickers tell all.) I’m sure they were feeling fine that day as that Thursday was the very same day their dear leader became a convicted felon. (There are not enough😆s for that, either.)

Wild how it was so hot during the day, but when the sun started to set, the winds picked up. I definitely felt them when I took this pic at a vista point near the mountains.
More pics after the cut…

A store I wish the Bay Area had: Aldi. They sell loaves of zero-carb bread for $4 and a 24 oz pack of thick-sliced bacon for $7.50. Be still, my low-carb heart.

If it’s a Saturday and I got free time in LA, you’ll likely find me at The Getty! Best to visit them on Saturdays, as they’re open till 8PM. It’s been a long while since I last went there when the days were longer, so it was a treat to enjoy daylight in the gardens after 7PM (I’m used to going there in autumn).

Whenever I see this painting, I never pass up the opportunity to pay homage to it! (And you may see that homage one day when I’m ready to show my face to the public.)

This Randy’s Donuts in Downey. I didn’t know it was a local franchise, as I thought its store right by the 405 was its only one. Shows what I know.

The Bridge of Gardens at South Coast Plaza shopping center.

WHY do I keep returning to this transit center in Anaheim just to marvel at its Pride Month-approved lighting? Because! 😛
Every time I travel, the thrifter in me needs to thrift. Left to right: a cute local shop in Lancaster (where I got a cool tank top for 50 cents), and a Savers in Fountain Valley.
Pismo Beach during sunset, on my drive back home. (I rarely take 5 North back home, as I prefer the long but scenic drive of 101 North.)
I always have to visit the Madonna Inn and its eye-catching, kitschy decor!
If I had more time in So-Cal, I would’ve revisited the LA Arboretum in Pasadena, Fashion Island in Newport Beach, and the location where The Office was filmed at (I did all that in my last LA trip, though). So many things I would’ve liked to have made time for down there…
But I can always make time for shit like this:

It won’t send him to jail and it’s not original, but I did it anyway.
Anyhoo, until next time, LA!
