Scenes From Kylie’s Tension Tour!

Yesterday, I got to break some tension in San Francisco by attending the Tension Tour featuring pop icon Kylie Minogue! While I got to see her for the first time a year ago, it’s not every year she tours the States. Let’s get to it with the pics!

(Note: there are no pics of her opening act Rita Ora, but only because I was in a long-ass line for Kylie merch while she was performing. Sorry!)

The Queen has arrived! And on time, might I add! (She started shortly after 8:30PM and her set was a bit over two hours long! We feasted!)

Views from my lower level seat. I got a pretty good zoom of her without it looking so potato quality.

Shots of Kylie on the B Stage. That disco ball made the whole venue look like the Milky Gay Galaxy. 😛

If I recall correctly, Kylie said she wanted to have a club/rave-like atmosphere to her shows for this tour. She definitely got that last night, as I was pretty much on my feet dancing (and taking pics/clips) almost the whole time. (It pays to have aisle seats!) I had fun with young queers who had just discovered her illustrious catalog, and elder queers who had followed her since her “Locomotion” days. By the way, she played that song and “I Should Be So Lucky”, which I didn’t expect! Her setlist can be found here.

The stage when she performed “Padam Padam”.

Concluding the show with “Love At First Sight” and a lot of confetti.

One wild thing I noticed: Kylie is the lone concert I’ve been to (so far) where the line for the men’s restrooms is longer than the line for the women’s restrooms. 😭

Also, I can’t be the only one who’s relieved that she came into the States and didn’t face any issues entering the States, if you know what I mean. I know she’s not political, but still!

Between this show and her show at Outloud WeHo last year, I can’t really favor one over the other. Last year’s show was my very first Kylie experience. Last night’s show was my first tour experience of hers, and there was a lot more to it than her Outloud show. I adored both shows, and I hope to see more of her shows in the near future without having to hop across the pond for them. But I also won’t blame her if she doesn’t tour the States for a while for whatever reason. For one night, however, Miss Minogue took me away from the madness of this damn country. She had me spinning around like a red-blooded woman on the dancefloor, and after the last encore, I still wanted more more more from the one and only Kylie. 🤩

Representing!

Since I can’t upload clips on WP, keep an eye out on my Bluesky for them. (Edit: the clips are now up, found in this thread.
