I thought I wouldn’t be doing my New Year’s tradition this year, given the rain that was in our forecast for yesterday and today. But it cleared up at midday and I was able to take my walk. Compared to last year’s image, it was nice seeing patches of clear skies and a bit of sun, after the dreary storm we just had. Could that symbolize something for this year? We shall see.
I did this a year ago, and, if time/weather permits, this may become a New Year’s tradition! And after all the rain we’ve had, oh how I miss a clear, sunny sky.
The East Bay Area (west Walnut Creek, in particular), on the first day of 2023, after that awful storm at the end of 2022. I sorely missed seeing the sun. What a way to start a new year!
What else but party music on this New Year’s Eve?
Years ago, a friend turned me on to some YouTube videos featuring extended dance mixes from the mid to late 1990s, and originally broadcasted by the UKs BBC Radio One. As a longtime lover of 1990s dance music, that friend knew the way to my heart. Since I won’t be hitting the clubs for New Year’s this year (we just had an awful rainstorm and who knows who has the flu or Covid in those clubs), the mix above is currently providing aural entertainment for my solo celebration at home. The first fourteen minutes alone always awakens my inner 90s party girl. Happy New Year, everyone!
