One of my favorite portraits of the Queen of Rock & Roll (with all due respect to Janis Joplin and Aretha Franklin) Tina Turner, captured by the late, legendary photographer Herb Ritts. The life she had led. Rest in eternal peace and power to a legend, survivor, inspiration, and icon in the truest sense.
“If you are unhappy with anything…whatever is bringing you down, get rid of it. Because you’ll find that when you’re free, your true creativity, your true self, comes out.” –Turner to Ebony magazine, November 1986

Happy Transgender Day Of Visibility! 🏳️‍⚧️ ❤️Proud to be an ally.
From heinous anti-Trans laws going through legislation in this so-called “Land of the Free” to transphobia still shamefully on the rise, now more than ever (sorry for the cliche) the Trans community needs our support and appreciation!

It may be the end of Women’s History Month, but no matter what the month or day, always remember the message on Xtina’s shirt. (Twenty years after seeing that in an old issue of US Weekly and I still want her shirt!)

Courtesy of newly-minted Best Actress Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh! So happy for her (and for her also making herstory on Oscar night), as well as the cast of Everything Everywhere All At Once, and for Brendan Fraser, after all he’s gone through.

The quotes are taken from the book All The Single Ladies by Rebecca Traister. I’m sure Susan would have a LOT more to say if she was alive today and saw how society treated women in the past year alone.

With all the madness that’s happened in the past few days, I figure these quotes were fitting. The Schuller quote is one of my long-time favorites.
Also, it may seem like a pipe dream at this point, but hopefully in my lifetime I’ll be able to see Congress do one damn thing to truly protect all its citizens from gun violence.

From the Yogi tea I had earlier today. I have a habit of collecting the quotes from their tea bags. (And Vanilla Spice is my fuel for the day.)

Two legends in their respective fields spitting truth. Rest in peace to both.
I shall let pop icon Christina Aguilera take this one:Â
Also, happy born day to one of my idols!Â
